Sorry... Hard to do this on a cell phone. The question is where the blood is coming from. If the bladder she should have a urinalysis today, an with this an exam to see if the blood is from the urine or vagina. If from the urine then this could easily be a simple bladder infection and antibiotics would be needed to rectify this befor the infection spreads.

If this is blood with bowel movements then the source needs to be found an given that this is the third day I would not delay in seeking care to identify the source.

I will have more for you soon though, as above, I am only able to access the site from my cell phone right now.

Any fever or pain should prompt a visit to her physician immediately, and if this is not an option, the ER is the place to go.

If you have further questions please post them in the comment section and I will get to them when I can. But please get her seen a soon as you can.

Thank you for your question.

In re-reading your question it seems that this is a blood in the stool issue, and, if so, the need to find a source is particularly important. Sine this has occurs with a siarrheal illness I might indicate an infectious diarrhea that might need to be treated with antibiotics. But folks with infectious diarrhea are typically quite Ill.

This eases the possibility of diverticulosis or hemorrhoidal bleeding. These are important to identify, but the trick here is that and lower GI bleeding will eventually require a colonoscopy to rule out the possibility of bowel cancer.

To be sure, this story does not lead me to this conclusion, I merely mention it because a good work up WILL address and rule out this possibility.

Thanks again for your question.
